Help Build the QueensWay!!

For more than a decade, Friends of the QueensWay (FQW) has worked alongside residents, community organizations, elected officials, businesses and public agencies to transform a long-abandoned rail corridor into a vibrant 3.5-mile linear park and cultural greenway connecting Central Queens. Today, that vision is closer than ever to becoming reality, with construction on the first phase of the QueensWay expected to begin in 2026.

The QueensWay will create new opportunities for recreation, walking, biking, environmental education, community gathering, and cultural programming while connecting neighborhoods from Rego Park to Ozone Park. The project will provide much-needed open space, improve access to parks and schools, support healthier lifestyles, and strengthen connections between communities throughout Central Queens.

Building public support for the completion of the full 3.5-mile QueensWay

Since its founding in 2011, Friends of the QueensWay has hosted more than 150 community events and engagement activities while advocating for the creation of what will become one of New York City's most transformative new public spaces.
