My name is Barbara Clarke Ruiz, and my passion for animals led me to create Lick You Silly Pet Products—a dog treat brand built on love and kindness. Our deep love for dogs shines through in every treat we make, crafted with the same care and affection we show our own pets. I’ve been fortunate to have the love and support of my husband, Jose Ruiz, for thirty-five years, along with my daughter which has been a constant source of inspiration in this journey.

Seeing a need in the market, I set out to build Lick You Silly from a vision. From ideation to package design, product development, and marketing, every aspect of this brand has been a labor of love and a dream come true.

My Inspiration:

Lick You Silly was born out of necessity and love. When we couldn’t find quality dog treats that didn’t upset our dog’s stomach, I took matters into my own hands and started baking my own. That’s when I realized I wanted to create something special for all dogs, ensuring they get the best. Home-cooked food and treats have extended our dogs’ lives, and I take pride in knowing that I’m making a difference in the lives of the pets who bring so much joy into ours.

As we’ve grown, I knew it was essential to partner with manufacturers who share our philosophy and can produce our products on a larger scale without compromising on quality.

Our Mission:

Lick You Silly is a brand built on love and kindness. In a world that often feels like it needs more of both, we’re committed to making a difference. Dogs aren’t just animals; they’re cherished family members. My mission goes beyond offering high-quality, natural dog treats. We’re dedicated to positively impacting our community through our "Licked Silly with Kindness" initiative, which encourages acts of kindness in exchange for free dog treats. This initiative helps spread love with every bite. We also regularly donate treats to local shelters, organize fun activities with our retail partners, and promote adoption to help deserving dogs find their forever homes.

Our efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. Before COVID, eight Kimpton Hotels offered Lick You Silly treats as part of their check-in amenity packages for guests with dogs. Our Nutterdoodles were voted the best dog treat by Cosmopolitan magazine, and we’re proud to be in the top 2% of dog treats sold on Amazon. We’ve been building this brand one treat at a time, and we’re excited about what’s next.

• Develop packaging and products for three new innovative treat flavors

• Create and support community initiatives involving fun activities with dogs especially those in shelters. Our shelter events will not only promote adoption but also bring joy to shelter animals, making their stay a little brighter.
