Orphan Girl Underground Rehabilitation

The Orphan Girl 100-Level Rehabilitation Project at the World Museum of Mining focuses on preserving and enhancing the underground tour experience at the historic Orphan Girl Mine in Butte, Montana. This initiative includes replacing old timbers, installing a ventilation fan, and making other structural updates to ensure safety and accessibility for visitors. The project is part of the museum’s ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity of the mine while offering an immersive look into Butte’s rich mining history. Visitors can explore the **original shaft station and see one of the few exposed veins in North America.

All donations made prior to December 31, 2025 will be matched up to $60,000 by an anonymous donor.
