Our Mission:

"Offering Immediate Relief and Long-Term Hope

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our beloved Western North Carolina (WNC) communities are facing unimaginable challenges. Homes have been destroyed, and families are grappling with the harsh reality of a freezing winter without shelter or warmth. The devastation is profound, but together, we can make a difference.

We have come together in a heartfelt partnership to create a fundraiser aimed at providing immediate relief to those affected with our primary objective being housing. Our goal is to reach those in need in the most efficient way possible, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to supporting families and providing adequate shelters as they begin to rebuild their lives.

Our Partnership:

Starting with myself, I am an Executive Director of In-Home Operations and Chief Childhood Development Officer, better known in today's world as a homemaker and mother. At the onset of the disaster relief efforts, I found myself overwhelmed with uncertainty and deep concern for those affected. Battling feelings of dejection, I resolved to take action by volunteering with local relief initiatives. I joined a dedicated group of women who were tirelessly collecting donations to support our neighbors in WNC. This experience not only allowed me to contribute, but it also fostered friendships and connections within the community, leading to a more direct understanding of individual needs.

Recognizing the urgent need for adequate housing, I partnered with Christina Gray, a remarkable survivalist with extensive experience living off the land. Christina’s unique skills and her background in marketing proved invaluable to our efforts. Through her outreach, we were able to negotiate with the company, White Duck Outdoors, for wholesale pricing on Hot Tents and gain a connection with Brooke Sullivan, the founder of The Wild Temple School in Asheville. Brooke has been on the front lines, working tirelessly to connect families with housing, supplies, and safety in the most equitable manner possible. Her swift action and extensive network have made a significant impact, helping families who often fall through the cracks of traditional aid.

Brooke is also associated with BeLoved Asheville, a trusted (501c3) nonprofit organization with over fifteen years of frontline experience. Their community-driven approach focuses on building relationships, fostering visible change, and generating momentum for collective action. By combining food security with housing needs and human rights advocacy, BeLoved has established a strong network to connect those who can give with those in need, especially for those who may have no one else to turn to.

As of Thursday, October 17, we have secured Hot Tents equipped with wood stoves and essential living supplies, thanks to the quick response of our community. These tents offer durability, warmth, and comfort as WNC individuals navigate the uncertainty of the months ahead. With BeLoved’s expertise and Brooke’s passion at the core of our partnership, we are committed to delivering these Safe Havens to those who need them most.

With your support, we can continue to provide essential housing and resources to families in need. The funds raised will allow us to purchase more Hot Tents for our current community project while also supporting families as they begin to rebuild their lives.

Why You Can Trust Us:

Our integrity and community-focused approach have been the cornerstones of this relief effort. From day one of this disaster, each of us has acted swiftly and effectively in response to the pressing needs in one way or another. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, we have already housed multiple families, but there is still so much more to accomplish together. Your compassion can help us continue this vital work, ensuring that no one is left behind during this challenging time.
