Women continue to lead as advocates for reproductive rights, champions of racial justice, and LGBTQI+ equality but we continue to face systemic barriers to full and equal participation in our economy and society.

There has been a dramatic shift in the landscape of reproductive advocacy in many states, and Maryland is no exception. We are now facing a barrage of coordinated, unrelenting attacks. These assaults on reproductive rights and justice continue to grow.

Reproductive Justice Inside is the only organization in the country that focuses our work on addressing the needs of systems-involved individuals who are not in complete control of their reproductive futures. They lack the freedom to seek quality, timely sexual and reproductive healthcare solutions, that compromise their overall health.

Dobbs made a bad situation worse - the decision has far reaching and potentially dire implications for the estimated 58,000 pregnant women and transgender people who enter our jails or prisons each year. It violates the very basic principles of reproductive justice. This population is stripped of the ability and right to make the determination of if, when, and how they choose to have a family.
