Your donation helps Renegade Opera create innovative productions, promote accessibility and equity in the opera industry, and support local and emerging artists. The 2023 season will feature both new music and beloved classics through Adam's Run, Bird Songs of Opera, ReneGala, Artists in Conversation, and more.
Adam's Run (2015) is a contemporary opera by composer Ruby Fulton and librettist Baynard Woods. Adam’s Run is a dark comedy set in a future dystopian America in the throes of climate collapse. Two television hosts, existentialist weather woman Julie Shore and environmentalist evangelist Reverend Billy Noble, vie for America’s viewership. Despite ideological differences, they fall in love. Television producer Dana Daring tells their story as a series of flashbacks. Originally written for the screen, Adam's Run will be performed live for the first time ever in Renegade Opera's production.
Bird Songs of Opera is both a bird watcher and opera lover's delight, featuring birds of the Northwest and iconic opera arias.
Artists in Conversation will be a series of performances and presentations throughout the season. Our first Artists in Conversation event features new music by local composers and performances by local musicians to tell stories of climate crisis and sustainability.
ReneGala is our annual gala. We put the fun in fundraising. All are invited to watch the Renegades perform, enjoy local libations and treats, and support the 2023 season.
