The Ramos Research Institute (RRI) was born from a simple idea: research should serve people.

We’re a volunteer-powered nonprofit advancing civic education, democracy, and public policy through actionable research. From tackling polarization and Courageous Dialogue to launching our Policy in Action Lab (PAL), RRI gives young researchers the tools to lead, write, and shape real-world change.

At the heart of our current work is the Citizenship Empowerment Framework (CEF)—a bold, student-informed initiative designed to revitalize how civics is taught and practiced in higher education. CEF helps students understand how to engage thoughtfully in democratic life by combining civic knowledge, media literacy, and participatory tools that empower action.

This Giving Day, we’re raising funds to expand our reach and deepen our impact—and we have a unique opportunity:
