Combined with our 6% borrowing fee, every dollar you donate enables us to provide $16 worth of tools and equipment to our member agencies and residents of Central Virginia. Since opening in 2015, the Richmond ToolBank has equipped more than 600 community-based organizations and countless residents with access to over 10,000 tools and $10 million in equipment cost savings, supporting more than 115,000 volunteers on 20,000 projects across Central Virginia.

These projects have ranged from neighborhood revitalizations to youth engagement programs and environmental cleanups—initiatives that would often be impossible without access to affordable tools and expertise. ToolBank’s model is simple but transformative: by lending tools at a low cost, we enable nonprofits and residents to save resources and reinvest them into their communities. We are expanding our proven model to reach more community stakeholders by breaking down the barriers that limit access to the tools and skills people need to build vibrant communities. Through tool lending, our Building Change volunteer program, and our ToolBOX workshops, we are a catalyst for change in the communities we serve.
