The screening will be followed by a conversation with filmmaker Nazrin Choudhury, Executive Director of Access Reproductive Justice, Jessica Gil; and Chief Public Affairs Officer of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, Lauren Babb.

Access Reproductive Justice removes barriers to sexual and reproductive health care and builds the power of Californians to demand health, justice, and dignity. ACCESS RJ combines direct services, community education and policy advocacy to promote real reproductive options and access to quality health care for people in California. No other organization in the state provides the same range of support for people considering or seeking an abortion.

The Purple Parlor Fund is deploying financial capital in support of RED, WHITE AND BLUE’s impact initiative, bringing the film, its dialogue, questions, and impactful story to audiences who have been traditionally closed to the conversation. This particular opportunity will be especially potent in states and locations that are not unequivocally partisan, often referred to as ‘purple,’ where RED, WHITE AND BLUE presents a possibility for common ground and civil reconciliation. Target audiences will be comprised of people from different faiths, economic realities, party affiliations, and levels of political awareness, engaging in discussions that explore how legislation introduced or enacted after Dobbs is impacting the lives, health, and safety of friends, neighbors, and loved ones, including in ways that some may find surprising. The Purple Parlor Fund’s primary goal is to spark many personal and private conversations—beyond the in-theater or talkback experience—which can subsequently take place within families or subsets of communities. Collectively, these many interruptions, in aggregate, can make a meaningful difference this fall and beyond as we head into another pivotal election where issues of economic justice, reproductive rights, and the right to one’s bodily autonomy will disproportionately impact the lives of so many.
