With much gratitude for those who have supported our fundraiser in
past years, we're thrilled to be returning to this year's READATHON (our
fifth year participating!).
We'll be reading excerpts from Neil Gaimen's "Coraline"--a haunting story about a young girl who is tempted to succumb to a new life that appears joyful, but is, in fact, sinister.
We hope you'll tune in for our reading (more details to follow). In the meantime, please help us raise money for our local library.
We're aiming for $500 this year.
Donations will be used to buy books, films, and other materials patrons
depend on to remain informed, entertained, and educated.
About the Readers:
Olivia Zowie Palma is 10-years-old and a student at the Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca. She serves as the time keeper in her classroom's governing body. These days, she's leaning into her passion for art, music, and anime. At home, she's reading Shirley Jackson's "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" and Ruth Behar's latest book, "Across so Many Seas." She absolutely adores the library and this event.
Raul Palma is Olivia's father, an associate dean of faculty at Ithaca College School of Humanities & Sciences, and the author of "A Haunting in Hialeah Gardens" (Dutton) and "In This World of Ultraviolet Light" (Indiana University Press).
