Help Rebuild Rocklands Bird Sanctuary: Jamaica’s Iconic Hummingbird Haven

For over 70 years, Rocklands Bird Sanctuary has been one of Jamaica’s most cherished natural treasures—a peaceful garden in the hills of Montego Bay where wild hummingbirds land on visitors’ hands. Generations of nature lovers have come to experience this magical connection with Jamaica’s birds.

Now, Rocklands needs your help.
Hurricane Melissa, a record-breaking Category 5 storm, devastated the sanctuary—toppling trees, destroying flowering plants, and tearing roofs from buildings. The dedicated team continues to care for the birds, but they face enormous challenges.

Your donation will directly support:

  • Rebuilding roofs, patios, and essential facilities
  • Restoring native vegetation and bird habitats
  • Providing emergency food for hummingbirds and other wild birds
  • Installing solar power to restore electricity and water

Every contribution helps revive this beloved sanctuary, support its caretakers, and ensure that Rocklands continues to inspire awe and connection for generations to come.

Together, we can help Rocklands rise again.

Fritz: "I love to be here, taking care of the birds. I hope that people can come back soon and feed the birds again."

Cynthia: "Rebuilding is going to be a challenge, we need help. The birds are still here, so there is a future for Rocklands. For those bird and nature lovers that know what Rocklands gives, I'm asking, please, for your help."
