Hurricane Melissa has left Westmoreland facing its most challenging time, with families and entire communities deeply affected by the storm’s destruction. Many households are still without basic essentials, homes have been compromised or in many cases, completely destroyed, and vulnerable residents are navigating uncertainty as they work to rebuild their lives.

The Westmorelite Foundation, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity, was created by people from Westmoreland to meet moments like these with compassion, structure, and action. Our mission is to uplift Westmoreland through strengthening resilience, expanding opportunity, and driving sustainable development through programs and support for initiatives that meet Westmoreland’s needs. Today, we invite people everywhere, Jamaicans at home, the diaspora, and anyone who believes in helping communities rebuild, to stand with us.
