"Plastic Wings"
Hello my name is Aruna Lucier, I am 14 and I designed this dress for AMPs recycled runway. My proceeds will be donated to AMP to help fund their mural, the education programs, and events that help support our community.
The dress is composed of a corset top made out of old grocery bags and wire, the skirt is made of discarded painters' plastic, and has butterfly’s made out of newspaper and ads that people throw out. The wings are made of more of the discarded painter's plastic and covered in newspaper butterfly’s. The headdress is made of wire, bottle tabs, and grocery bags. I also used bottle tabs to make a train in the back of the dress.
