June Brooks was born in March 2021. Her story starts off pretty straightforward. She was a happy baby, loved engagement with others and enjoyed sitting on the floor turning pages of books. At 9 months old, June had a mild gross motor delay that required physical therapy. At 15 months old, June was diagnosed with hypotonia and referred to a Neurologist. By 22 months old, June’s WES results showed that she was positive for Rett Syndrome. This past year has been the hardest. June has lost all purposeful use of her hands, seizures have started, respiratory issues have flared up, and we are contemplating a G-Tube.
