At We Are Revolutionary, we’re on a mission to address Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) by engaging full families in the political process, peer advocacy, and transformative programming. Through our work, we also connect the Black diaspora in a global fight against imperialism and oppression. We believe the heart of every thriving community is strong, healthy families, which is why our family and youth development programs are designed to repair, heal, and empower.

Our Youth Organizing Program is a cornerstone of this mission. Starting with just eight youth in a summer program, we’ve grown into a year-round initiative that now engages 60 young people. These youth organizers have launched and participated in multiple impactful campaigns, acquiring critical social skills, workforce experience, and financial independence—all while giving back to their communities.

Albany has been labeled one of the worst places to raise a Black child according to the Child Opportunity Index, with some areas ranking as low as 1% out of 100%. Our program offers a pathway to change this narrative by empowering young people to become community leaders and advocates.

But we can’t do it alone. To expand our program to 120 youth, hire a part-time Youth Coordinator, and provide 100 passports for global solidarity trips, we’re asking for your support to raise $180,000. Your contribution will ensure that our youth have the resources they need to tackle the challenges of today and shape the solutions of tomorrow—all while building stronger families and communities.
