This Memorial Fund is setup on behalf of Rex Eugene Pickett, 66, who was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his home in Draper, Utah. All proceeds will be used to care for the children of Cavallion and the new school there. For more information about Rex's life: https://www.larkinmortuary.com/obituary/view/rex-eugene-pickett/
Rex absolutely loved Haiti and serving the orphans and the community through El Shaddai Ministries International where he was critical as a civil engineer and assisted his wife Dr. Heather Pickett with the medical care. They went there together as a couple three times and then he went there another three times.
His civil engineering skills were crucial in establishing a system that would prevent flooding due to the torrential rains and he set up and helped install an engineering plan to protect the embankments through Gabion construction, and protect the orphanage from flooding and give jobs to the local economy.
He loved the children and always played with them and let them climb all over him. He never complained. He was also thankful to be involved with installing their new water system through Living Waters For The World and a solar electric charging system at the orphanage in Cavillon
Rex was waiting for the day that would be safe for us to return so he could minister again.
