Rise & Heal: A Women’s Wellness Event – Empowering Black Women to Reclaim Their Strength

In times of adversity, healing and empowerment become essential to rebuilding lives. Rise & Heal: A Women’s Wellness Event is more than just a gathering—it’s a sanctuary for Black and Women of Color women impacted by trauma, displacement, and life’s challenges, especially survivors of the Eaton Canyon Fires in Altadena, CA. This intimate event, hosted by Reddy To Care, is designed to provide a safe space for healing, restoration, and renewal through holistic wellness practices.

Why This Event Matters

The Eaton Canyon Fires displaced families, disrupted lives, and left many without resources or support systems. Black and WOC (women of color) women, particularly in underserved communities, are disproportionately affected by trauma, financial instability, and the lack of culturally competent wellness services. Despite these challenges, they continue to show up for their families and communities while often neglecting their own emotional and mental well-being.

At Rise & Heal, we are committed to changing this narrative by offering a space where women can prioritize themselves, find community, and access the tools they need to heal and thrive.

What We’re Providing

This event will support 25 African American & Women of Color women through:
1. Trauma-Informed Healing Workshops – Facilitated by trained professionals to help women process and release the emotional burden of trauma.
2. Healing Through Writing & Art Therapy – Expressive and therapeutic outlets to promote self-discovery, empowerment, and renewal.
One-on-One Emotional Wellness Check-Ins – Private sessions with licensed psychologists, including Dr. Keisha White and Dr. Amanda, providing guidance and support.
3. Vision Board Creation Station – A dedicated space for women to visualize their future, set intentions, and manifest hope.
4. Resource Hub & Community Support – Select vendors offering valuable resources on mental health, financial wellness, domestic violence, and more (available from 10 AM - 1 PM).
5. Nourishment & Care – A breakfast mixer and a boxed lunch to keep attendees refreshed and cared for.
6. Attendee Grab Bags – Filled with thoughtfully curated self-care items, wellness tools, and essentials to continue their healing journey beyond the event.
