Helping Children Rise Above Adversity

Rise works with young children around the world who have experienced severe trauma from war, extreme poverty, or displacement, and sometimes all of the above. It is nearly impossible for these children to enter kindergarten or first grade and learn. 

If children don’t succeed in kindergarten and first grade, their likelihood of success in school, plummets. In many areas, these children simply drop out of school by the fourth grade and the cycle of poverty continues.

Our specialty is trauma informed, play-based early education for exactly this group of children. It's an entire evidence-based methodology and toolkit that we teach to teachers or anyone who's working with 0- to 6-year-old children, including parents. It literally transforms children’s lives and helps them feel safe, reconnect with their parents or caregivers, heal, and be able to learn.
