A "must-see for every American,” Rising Hope centers on the powerful story of the Mississippi Delta. Inspiring and resonating with audiences across the country, the documentary has received multiple awards, including Best Documentary at the LightReel Film Festival and Golden Gate International Film Festival; Best Director at Golden Gate International Film Festival; and the Audience Award and Best Mississippi Film at Oxford Film Festival.

Created in partnership with participants from underserved communities in the Mississippi Delta, Rising Hope sheds light on the struggles faced by residents of one of the country’s most economically devastated regions. The film introduces a community deeply affected by systemic issues such as industrial relocation, underfunding of public schools, and oppressive policies toward Black residents. Through intimate testimonials, the documentary delves into the entwined nature of suffering and hope. Though Rising Hope is set in the Mississippi Delta, its message resonates far beyond the region.

There will be a Q&A with the director and participants from the film after the screening. Guests are asked to arrive by 6:30pm to ensure a prompt start time of 7 pm. Tickets for this premiere are donation-based. For each individual screening we hold, costs include travel for participants and crew, venue rentals, marketing, and much more.
