Homeless, unaccompanied young people 25 and under in the Greater Nashua area come to Stepping Stones every day to address their basic needs and work on a full slate of career, education. and housing goals. After making a plan, they feel empowered by opportunity and are eager to succeed, but very often their next big hurdle is transportation.

More than 80 youth have received service through Stepping Stones. Because keeping them on the road to success is imperative, Stepping Stones staff and volunteers have chosen to use their personal vehicles for:

Housing searches
Job interviews
Driving practice for those earning their license
Medical appointments
The food bank
Trips to the Nashua Public Library, YMCA, or Nashua Community College
Enrichment programming– this past year, staff vehicles traveled as far as Concord to provide this service.

Though staff are happy to provide this service, we can do so more consistently and reliably with a dedicated vehicle large enough to accommodate 5-6 youth. To meet this need, our goal is to raise $20,000 that will cover the cost of a certified pre-owned vehicle from a reliable retailer. Grappone Auto has already partnered with Stepping Stones and has made the first donation to the campaign. Will you be next to help put these young people on the road to success?
