Saga Dawa Lamp Offering
Light a Butter Tealight Candle: Sacred Aspirations for All Beings
During the blessed celebration of Sagadawa, lighting a butter tealight candle becomes a profound spiritual practice—a luminous offering that sends your deepest aspirations for yourself, your loved ones, and all sentient beings into the universe. The virtue and power of your aspiration is magnified 100,000 times during this sacred time that honors the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Buddha.
How to Participate
Join Us in Person
If you plan to join us in person, you may light your own candle and make your aspiration in person.
Participate from Afar
If distance prevents your physical presence, we will honor your intentions by lighting a candle on your behalf. Your written prayers will be carefully placed on our altar using a special prayer card, where they will remain throughout the entire Saga Dawa month, continuously blessed by the sacred energy of this holy time.
