Rwanda for Education Project

We are so grateful for your unwavering support, which continues to transform the lives of the children in our program. Thanks to your generosity, this year has been a remarkable one. We made a minor renovation to our hub in Kigali, bringing in new desks, chairs, supplies, and materials to create an even more vibrant learning environment. We also started a garden that provides both education and nourishment, introduced a new dance program that nurtures creativity and confidence, and expanded our tutoring program to offer deeper academic support.  

We now serve three cohorts: Alpha (5th grade), Beta (4th grade), Omega (3rd grade), and our newest addition, Omega II (2nd grade). While Omega II students were held back a grade, we remain committed to their success and are providing targeted support to help them thrive. We have a total of 57 students in our Rwanda for Education project.

At the same time, we had to make a difficult decision to remove three students from the program due to a lack of parental involvement and insufficient academic progress. This decision was made with great care, as we remain committed to ensuring every child and family in the program is fully engaged in this journey of transformation.  

Your partnership is the cornerstone of all we do, and we cannot thank you enough for believing in the potential of these children and their families. Together, we are building not just brighter futures, but stronger communities.  

We deeply value your ongoing support and prayers, and we want to share a significant challenge we are facing as we look ahead to 2025. Due to changes in local regulations, we will be required to move from our current hub in Kigali. The city is mandating that properties undergo full renovations to include multi-level homes or units, and as renters, this will necessitate finding a new location in the coming year.  

This transition comes at a time when many of our families are also being displaced from the community, as they search for new housing and adjust to new schools for their children. We ask that you keep these families in your prayers, specifically for peace, stability, and an easy transition for our students as they settle into new neighborhoods and schools.  

We are earnestly praying that we can secure a new property to rent, where our students and families can continue to gather weekly for their programs and support. However, with inflation impacting both the U.S. and Rwanda, we anticipate that rental costs may increase significantly—potentially two to three times what we currently pay.  

As we navigate these uncertainties, we are holding on to hope and faith that we will find solutions that allow us to continue serving our students and their families. Your prayers and continued support mean the world to us as we face this new chapter together.
