Bethlehem Home Academy
It began with a swing-set and a dream. When a U.S. college student donated his birthday money to build a place for children to play on Kenya's Nyakach Plateau, the families who gathered there began imagining something bigger — a school worthy of their children's potential. Bethlehem Home Kouko Academy opened in 2010 in buildings of branches and scrap metal, and through the generosity of Straw to Bread donors, it has grown into a full primary and secondary school serving students from their earliest years through Junior Secondary. Now we are taking the next great step: expanding to a full Senior Secondary program and building a dedicated campus to house both the Junior and Senior Secondary Schools — giving the young people of Bethlehem Home a complete path from childhood all the way to the doors of college and university. Your gift doesn't just change one child's life — it builds the next generation of leaders for the entire Plateau.
