Since 2009, Straw to Bread has been transforming healthcare on the Nyakach Plateau in rural western Kenya from humble beginnings with volunteer physicians treating up to one hundred patients a day in a church with no electricity or running water, and growing into the remarkable Bethlehem Home Hospital, a full facility now staffed by Dr. Don Ogola, a homegrown pediatrician who grew up in the very community he serves and returned to lead its care rather than follow the "brain drain" to wealthier places.

Today, Bethlehem Home Hospital provides essential primary care, maternal and child health services, and specialist consultations to thousands of patients who would otherwise have no access to quality medical care. Your donation helps sustain these life-giving services while also funding the next great step in this journey: the Faith Surgical Center for Excellence, a facility that will equip the community with surgical capabilities — including C-section deliveries and advanced diagnostic tools like digital X-ray and ultrasound — transforming Bethlehem Home into a true regional referral center and giving the people of Nyakach access to the same standard of care too long reserved for wealthier parts of the world.
