The Marshall Learning Center is more than an after-school program. It is a second home for many Annapolis students from families who speak a language other than English. With an after-school program 4 times each week and a summer camp at Quiet Waters Park in July, the Marshall Learning Center creates a consistent pipeline to academic success. Serving over 20 schools in Anne Arundel County, the Marshall Learning Center accepts children as early as 4 years old, and many continue to attend the program through high school. The comprehensive program meets each student where they are with individualized educational support and enrichment. This is made possible through partnerships with organizations such as Let’s Go STEM, Annapolis Symphony Academy, Maryland Hall’s Creating Communities program, Tennis Alliance, Fello Children’s Advocacy, Language Immersion Learning, and the Arundel Rivers Federation. The center also partners with non-profit Bike AAA, which provides every child with a bicycle, and works with the Annapolis Police Department to teach them bike safety. The center employs teachers and tutors, and welcomes volunteers from the community and local high schools. The children also participate in a bilingual choir conducted by local singer Natalia Carrasco Coa. These unique opportunities, curated by Program Director Tatiana J Klein, also teach life skills such as discipline, creativity, teamwork, and wellness that benefit students both in the classroom and beyond.

The center relies on generous individual donations, grants, and the support of local clubs and organizations to continue its mission. Please consider supporting this remarkable program so that the deserving children can learn and thrive. For more information, contact Tatiana at [email protected].
