This Giving Tuesday, US2UGANDA4life is excited to focus on a transformative project that will provide a safe and nurturing home for the newest members of our Suubi Lyabanna family—our Baby Class intake (ages 3-4 years) in February 2025.
We are raising funds to convert existing storage units and a garage at Suubi House into a warm and welcoming space where these young children will spend their first year in our care. This project will offer them more than just a place to stay; it will give them a strong start on their educational journey and ensure they are emotionally and socially prepared for school life.
Why This Project Matters:
A Nurturing Environment: By repurposing the current facilities, we are creating a home-like space that will provide these young children with a sense of safety, belonging, and warmth as they join the Suubi Lyabanna family. For children who come from difficult backgrounds, this environment is essential to their well-being.
Tailored Care for Young Learners: At this tender age, children need personalized care and attention. By adding dedicated dormitories, a house mother, and a multipurpose space for play and learning, we will ensure these children receive the care, engagement, and support they need to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Social and Emotional Support: These children will begin their educational journey together, building a sense of community, trust, and friendship from day one. This tight-knit group will help ease their transition into school and give them a support system that will reduce the overwhelming feeling of entering a full boarding school later on.
Removing Stigma: Attending Masaka Baptist School as day students while living at Suubi House allows these children to blend in with their peers, eliminating the stigma that often comes with being identified as orphans or from less privileged backgrounds. This experience will break down barriers and foster inclusivity.
Smooth Transition to Boarding School: After spending a year in Suubi House, the children will be better prepared for boarding school life. They will have developed routines, resilience, and confidence in navigating school rules, ensuring a smoother transition when they move to Top Class and the full boarding school environment.
This hybrid approach adds year-round value to Suubi House, and more importantly, it gives these children a positive, stable foundation for their educational future. With your support, we can provide a space where they can grow, thrive, and succeed.
Thank you in advance for being part of this transformative effort. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on the lives of these children.
With gratitude,
Cormac & Ali
