Hi. My name is Sharon Garratt. I’m the President of Partners of the Americas, Arkansas-East Bolivia Chapter. We are part of the National Partners of the Americas Organization, joining others throughout the Americas to connect individuals to serve the common good and change lives for the better.
Since 1965, our non-profit has sponsored numerous exchanges based on professional expertise and volunteer enthusiasm in the areas of agriculture, culture and arts, education, health, democratic initiatives, domestic violence institutional alliances, and volunteerism.
We have connected hundreds of Arkansans with East Bolivians and others from Latin American countries. In the area of education, our chapter has provided 4 teacher-in-resident exchanges, the establishment of a dental clinic in Santa Cruz, a plan for Pap Smear screening for women of low and moderate incomes, and providing autism packets for teachers. In the area of youth engagement, several initiatives for projects like Kids Voting Arkansas, and Pen Pal Exchanges. Youth Ambassadors from Bolivia, Colombia, and Venezuela have been hosted numerous times, and mentors from Arkansas have traveled with U.S. Youth Ambassadors to Ecuador and Colombia. We have awarded numerous scholarships to students pursuing their educational goals.
But we need funds and members to help our organization grow, and the time to act is now! We would like to raise $500.00 to grow our membership and increase our impact serving the people, families, and organizations in East Bolivia.
By becoming a member, you will have the opportunity to personally interact with visitors from Latin America and support our educational and cultural exchanges.
Can you please join us with a new or returning tax-deductible membership by May 31, 2024?
