On Sunday, November 10, join hosts Anne Sherman, Matt Mittenthal, Lisa Cowan and Rabbi Matt Green in supporting South Brooklyn Sanctuary (SBS)—a community-powered organization working to keep New York a true sanctuary city.

Few people realize that there’s no right to an attorney in immigration proceedings. Nearly half of immigrant New Yorkers are forced to represent themselves against government lawyers—a hidden civil rights crisis playing out in our own courts.

SBS was born out of that injustice. It pairs immigrants who can’t secure attorneys with trained volunteers who help to prepare applications, understand the law, and face court with greater confidence. SBS is now in overdrive responding to ICE in our courts and on our streets, and preparing for the likely arrival of the National Guard in NYC.

Your support helps SBS train volunteers, host legal clinics, and ensure that immigrant New Yorkers don’t face the system alone. This is an opportunity for neighbors to stand up for neighbors and defend our sanctuary city. Every act of solidarity counts.
