SCAN - Safe kids, stronger Racine

Every child deserves to feel safe, and to know that abuse is never their fault.

For decades, SCAN (Stop Child Abuse & Neglect) has provided free, school-based child abuse prevention education to children throughout Racine County. Our age-appropriate programs reach preschool, kindergarten, and elementary students with life-saving lessons that help them recognize unsafe situations, understand safe and unsafe touch, say “no” to unwanted behavior, and tell a trusted adult when something doesn’t feel right.

These lessons don’t just educate—they empower children with confidence, language, and the courage to speak up.

In recent years, SCAN has lost key funding sources that once sustained this work. As those resources continue to decline, community support is now crucial to maintaining these programs and keeping them available and free for local schools. Without donations, many children may never receive this critical education.

When you give to SCAN, you are taking direct action to prevent abuse before it happens and to ensure children know they are not alone.

Your Impact

  • $10 helps 1 child learn how to recognize and report abuse

  • $50 provides safety education for 5 students

  • $125 reaches half a classroom

  • $250 empowers an entire classroom of 25 children

  • $1,250 supports 5 full classrooms with SCAN’s trusted programs

Your generosity protects children, strengthens families, and builds a safer Racine County—one classroom at a time.
