I’ve had the privilege of knowing Lystra and her dedicated SCIENCE team for 15 years, and I can’t speak highly enough of the incredible work they do to inspire a love for nature in children and communities across St. Vincent. Through hands-on classes, summer camps, and school visits, they bring the wonders of biodiversity to life—showcasing St. Vincent’s iconic and threatened birds and other wildlife.
Their programs are unforgettable. Children and community members get to explore the natural world up close through activities and field trips to some of the most beautiful and biodiverse areas in St. Vincent. Students love the program so much that many continue participating into their late teens and even their twenties!
For years, Lystra has rented temporary spaces to host these transformative programs. Now, with the land secured, she’s ready to build a permanent home for SCIENCE—a place where education and conservation can flourish for generations to come. The new building will include classrooms and a mini museum featuring natural and cultural artifacts from St. Vincent.
I believe wholeheartedly in Lystra’s dream to create this Science Center. It will have a lasting positive impact, empowering countless children and communities to connect with and protect their environment. Let’s help make this dream a reality! Together, we can create a legacy of education, conservation, and hope for St. Vincent’s future.
