2025 Search for Christian Maturity

About our Fundraisor - Search for Christian Maturity

The Search for Christian Maturity has long been a profound spiritual experience for the  students at Pope John XXIII High School.  Having begun in 1981, it remains a semi-annual student-led weekend retreat where participants get the opportunity to explore and strengthen their relationship with Jesus while building community and supporting each other.

“Search”  has been and continues to be transformative to all students seeking a better understanding of who they are and their relationship with God.  And, as you know, the program is intentionally held at an off-campus location so that each participant can be fully invested – without distraction – on the weekend.  Unfortunately, however, it continues to be a costly endeavor.

While the participants will be contributing financially to attend, Pope John continues to try and keep the cost reasonable to ensure that no one is deprived of this opportunity.  Some of the most basic costs, like transportation and meals, have dramatically risen in recent years.

Today, the Search Team and this year’s attendees are asking for your assistance in defraying those costs.   As you reflect on how important retreats like Search perfect a Pope John education, please consider underwriting one of the expenses listed below:

  • Participant Fee: $125

  • Saturday Night Bonfire Refreshments: $250

  • YMCA Camp Programming Session 1: $400

  • YMCA Camp Programming Session 2: $400

  • Friday Dinner: $450

  • Saturday Breakfast: $550

  • Sunday Breakfast: $550

  • Saturday Lunch: $750

  • Transportation: $750

  • Saturday Dinner: $900

  • Search Benefactor: $1,000

Of course, any donations would be greatly appreciated and know that your support is paramount in keeping this tradition viable for many years to come.

Thank you again for your support and prayers in making this year’s Search weekend a continued success.
