The Somers Education Foundation (SEF), established in 1994, is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization comprised of parents, school representatives and community members. SEF supports Somers schools by raising funds for specific student and teacher-initiated projects that enrich the educational experience and are not funded by the district’s budget. As of January, 2019, SEF surpassed the $1.5 MILLION mark in grants and scholarships awarded.

Achieved in SEF’s 25th year, the total now stands at $1,500,000 and we are on our way to our second million! We have awarded over 390 grants and scholarships ranging from purchasing “SmartBoards” and computer/audio-visual equipment, to uniforms for the fife and drum corps, to funding diversity programs, to supporting our schools Power Libraries and most recently, the expanded Engineering by Design program in the Somers Middle School.
