This year marked the 50th anniversary of the evening DJ Kool Herc created continuous break-beats by working two turntables during a party in a rec room in the Bronx.

Now, 50 years later, Soul Food Cypher is keeping the spirit of Hip Hop alive through our monthly cyphers, events, and school programs.

SFC showcases the positive aspects of Rap through our Cypher events, performances, and community outreach. We aim to provide lyricists (Rappers) with a safe and nurturing environment where their voices and artistry can grow.
