Our story began in Thanksgivng in 2017, with the rescue of 4 horses from a Texas 'killpen'. In 2021 we became a 501(c)(3 ) non profit organization.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and permanently rehome each of the horses we intercept from the slaughter pipeline. Most arrive sick, underweight and unhandled. We get them healthy, provide excellent nutrition, veterinary treatment and shots, geld the studs, halter break, provide farrier care, chiropractic and bodywork as needed, and finally, we invest in professional training. At that point the horses are available for adoption to permanent homes, with adoption contract.

In every case, the adoption fee is many thousands less than the actual cost to rescue, rehab and train that horse. Our Rescue relies on donations to be sustainable. In 2023, we spent over $20,000 on hay and feed!

Raising money to save the life of a horse destined for slaughter is the easy part. Once they are safe, the real cost of rescue kicks in. Your donation will help with the purchase of hay, grain, bedding, blankets, farrier and vet care, training etc. Please consider a recurring monthly or quarterly donation to help with these ongoing expenses.
