This Giving Tuesday, you can help change the trajectory of a young person’s life.

St. James Community Development Corporation (St. James CDC) is standing at ground zero of a crisis—and of a solution. Every year, young people aging out of the foster care system face one of the highest risks of homelessness. In San Mateo County, 60% of Transition-Age Youth (TAY) are pushed out simply because they cannot afford a place to live.

We believe they deserve better.

That is why St. James CDC is building a first-of-its-kind residential village—five fully furnished studio homes designed specifically for youth transitioning out of foster care. This village will not only provide safe, stable, affordable housing but also wraparound support to help these young adults build a future filled with possibility rather than instability.

And for us, this work is personal.

Pastor Bussey, our Executive Director, knows firsthand what it means to stand at the edge of uncertainty without a safety net. Her story is the heartbeat of this project.

This project is bigger than one church or one neighborhood.
It is a movement—a scalable, replicable model that can empower faith communities across the nation to become part of the solution to homelessness.

We are close—halfway to our $2.4M construction goal. Building permits are nearly in hand, and with your support, we can secure the remaining funds by December 31, 2025 to lock in construction costs and break ground.

Five youth at a time will have a place to call home. A place to breathe. A place to heal. A place to launch a future.
