Mike "Popcorn" Bourgeois was a special man who sadly passed away from ALS in 2022. We initially established Popcorn's Challenge LTD to help provide financial support to Michael and his family while they dealt with this dreaded disease. The generosity shown by this community was amazing and I know Mike and Tracy were overwhelmed with the love and kindness shown to them by all of you. I hope we can continue to harness that generosity and kindness to help other families.

Anyone who is lucky enough to have called Popcorn a friend knows that he was one of the most selfless guys you will ever meet. To honor Michael's life and spirit, it is our wish to keep this site open to continue raising funds to help other families in the New Bedford area who are dealing with ALS. The Bourgeois family feels so grateful for the love and support from this community and they want to try to give back in the same way this community has helped them. What better way to honor Popcorn's amazing selfless spirit than by continuing to help other families dealing with ALS in his name?

We also have established a scholarship fund at the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School which will give two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Michael’s name on an annual basis.
