Save One Soul Animal Rescue League (SOSARL) is a non-profit, volunteer driven and foster-based dog rescue organization based in Rhode Island. Since our founding in 2014, SOSARL has facilitated over 5,000 adoptions and continued to evolve with the changing tide of animal rescue.

Over the past couple years, we have observed an increase in the length of stay for dogs in our care. For each dog in our program, we remain dedicated to ensuring proper nutrition, preventive and essential veterinary care, socialization, exercise, training, and safety. However, as the length of stay grows, so do the costs required to meet their needs while they patiently await their forever homes. Every day a dog is with us, we are paying to ensure they get exactly what they need.

A few example of dogs currently in our program:

Love Affirmation entered in rescue on October 9th, 2023, making her length of stay 414 days*.

Leo Beo entered into rescue on January 11th, 2024, making his length of stay 320 days*.

Noel, currently in hospice foster, entered into rescue on December 14th, 2023, making her length of stay 348 days*.

In addition to our long timers, puppies are even staying around longer meaning more vet visits for us to keep them up to date on all their vaccinations, more food, more preventatives, more supplies, etc.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising funds to support the past, present, and future care of the dogs in our program. Your generosity will help us meet their essential needs and provide the typical dog essentials that bring joy and happiness to their lives.
