What is DAF Day?

DAF Day is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) and their power to transform lives. On this special day, individuals and organizations around the world come together to celebrate the impact of DAFs and encourage others to learn more about this powerful charitable giving tool.

Why Support South Shore Community Action Council?

South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) is committed to empowering individuals and families in our community to achieve financial self-sufficiency and a better quality of life. Our various programs and services provide essential support with nutrition and food assistance, home energy and utility assistance, energy conservation assistance, early education, family support, transportation for the elderly and disabled, and income maximization.

By supporting SSCAC through a Donor-Advised Fund, you can make a lasting impact on the lives of our local neighbors in need.

How to Participate:

To participate in DAF Day and support SSCAC, consider the following:

Establish a DAF: If you don't already have a DAF, explore options with a reputable manager, such as Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, etc., or community foundation.

Recommend a Grant: Make a grant recommendation to SSCAC through your DAF.

Spread the Word: Share information about DAF Day and SSCAC with your friends, family, and colleagues.

Join us in celebrating DAF Day and making a difference in our community.

About SSCAC

South Shore Community Action Council, Inc. (SSCAC), a private, non-profit community action agency, works hand-in-hand with our communities to create opportunities and improve the well-being of low-income individuals and families throughout the South Shore.

Founded in 1965, we have grown to assist over 29,000 low-income individuals of all ages from the South Shore, South Coast, Cape Cod, and the Islands each year.

In addition to our main office located in Plymouth, we operate 6 Early Education centers (Plymouth, Marshfield, Wareham, Hyannis, Dennis Port, West Yarmouth), 3 Home Energy Assistance intake offices (Plymouth, Mashpee, Martha’s Vineyard), and our Food Distribution Center (Plymouth).
