Stand With CHERRY
Cherry, platted in 1891, is one of the oldest communities in Charlotte, North Carolina, and one of the last remaining historically African American communities in the city. Cherry is home to one of Charlotte’s last remaining historically Black schools--the historic Morgan School, built in 1925. Our goal is to restore and preserve the school for the purpose of establishing "The Historic Morgan School: Community Learning and Cultural Heritage Center." We also want to move Morgan School one step closer to being listed on the prestigious National Register of Historic Places. STAND with CHERRY in our efforts to Preserve the historic Morgan School!
