Story

Update: We are trying to finish 2022 strong to celebrate all we have accomplished over the years. Please keep donating through the end of October.  While we were not able to meet our goals for 2022, we have ONLY about $4k in expenses needed to finish the year strong without any debts. Thanks for your help!

Last year we split into two organizations Share The Cities Community Education & Share The Cities Action Fund.

The Action Fund supports our lobbying efforts, political and electoral work. The Community Education work is under a fiscal sponsor and supports our workshops and community outreach.

Please email [email protected] for information about those efforts.

------

After five years of rabble rousing as a collective, there were next level goals and dreams that couldn't be realized without turning into a non-profit. We are starting off with Share The Cities Action Fund as a 501(c)(4) which allows us to engage in political advocacy, but means that your donation is not tax deductible - YET!

With your help, we hope to launch Share The Cities Education in early 2022. We have big plans for upcoming education workshops and community outreach to help lower barriers to increase civic engagement.

What are we working on?

  • Relentless mobilization for housing stability efforts across the city and state.
  • Broadening participation of community members in wonky land use process, like design review.
  • Fighting for digital equity & a true digital commons through municipal broadband.
  • Cities for everyone and abundant public bathrooms in Seattle.

What does your support mean?

  • If we meet our goal, we will be able to fully compensate our staff's time.

Thanks to each of you that is able to support this work!

Your donation, at any level, will demonstrate broad community support for this difficult-to-fund political advocacy work!
