Dear Lake Vermilion Friends and Neighbors,
It’s been another year of progress, dedication, and community spirit for the Lake Vermilion Fire Brigade (LVFB). As the year draws to a close, we want to share how your continued generosity has enabled us to better serve our Lake Vermilion community in 2024.
Training and Preparedness Our volunteers dedicated countless hours this year, training in boat operations, EMS and CPR, and cold-water rescue, ensuring our team is ready to handle emergencies across all conditions. We also participated in joint training sessions with Cook Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD), Cook Area Ambulance Service (CAS), and North Memorial Air Care. These collaborative efforts strengthen our ability to work seamlessly with neighboring agencies during critical incidents.
Emergency Response and Community Support This year saw us responding to a range of emergencies, including EMS mutual aid, wildfire support, and rescue operations. We were once again thrilled to support the "Let’s Take a Kid Fishing" and "Let’s Take a Vet Fishing" events. Additionally, we joined the broader community to raise funds for flood disaster relief in Cook.
Infrastructure Improvements We’re thrilled to share that the pavement and stenciling for the helispot are complete and will improve the safety and efficiency of emergency aircraft landing and takeoff. We are grateful to everyone involved in making this project a reality.
Looking Ahead As we reflect on a year of service, we remain mindful of the unpredictable nature of emergencies and the importance of being prepared. Our mission is to continue building a well-trained and well-equipped emergency response team that Lake Vermilion can rely on, regardless of the challenge. However, we cannot do this alone.
We are asking for your support once again with our annual appeal. As a 100% volunteer, not-for-profit organization, we receive no tax funding and rely entirely on the generosity of individuals like you. Your donations are crucial for maintaining boat operations, equipment, and training for our volunteers, and for funding essential projects like the helispot.
Support the Lake Vermilion Fire Brigade Your gift—whether large or small—makes a significant difference and is fully tax-deductible. Your ongoing commitment to the LVFB enables us to remain ready to respond to medical emergencies, rescues, and wildfires, ensuring the safety of our friends and neighbors.
Thank you for considering a donation to the LVFB this year. Your support is a testament to the resilient and generous spirit of our community.
Sincerely,
The LVFB Board of Directors
