Why TGI….Because we’re the first and only. TGI Is the only gap-year program in the country that focuses on preparing students from the global majority to achieve admission to BFA programs. 

Why TGI…Because we are breaking down barriers for BIPoC arts students. TGI boasts a 100% acceptance rate for its students into theatre or musical theatre programs.

TGI’s seventh-month program changes the trajectory of students’ lives by giving them the skills, coaching and confidence to compete successfully for admission into the nation’s most prestigious programs. 

Why TGI…Because the theatre should be for everyone. 

In 2017, an Actor’s Equity study showed that under 8% of principal contracts went to African-Americans and less than 2% to Asian Americans. TGI is changing those statistics by ensuring more Black and Brown students are in the pipeline to the stage.
