SWA Community Fundraiser

South Walton Academy is a non-profit, private school and pediatric therapy center in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. While we are a private school and serve all children, we strive to bridge the gap between communication and children with Autism and other learning disabilities. Our goal is to create an alternative learning environment for all students of all abilities. We provide a broad range of individualized, educational, and therapeutic opportunities for all children ages 3 years old through the 12th grade and offer services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral therapy available for children with Autism and related disabilities. We also serve neurotypical and advanced developing children.

With 90% of our students on scholarships, we rely primarily on state funding through the State Step Up For Student Scholarship Program. After extended funding delays created a devastating financial ripple effect, many schools across Florida were forced to close their doors. When we announced our intention to close, our staff, families, and community pulled together to help keep our program open. We are now working with community leaders on long term planning to rebuild lost financial reserves to get ahead of state funding and improve our stability.
