Westborough Annual Fund

We (SYFS, Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services) recently completed our first full year providing the counseling and psychoeducation services for Westborough Youth and Family Services! Our partnership with the Town provides high-quality, local, and timely mental health counseling for all Westborough residents right in the heart of downtown. As a nonprofit, we do need to raise additional dollars each year to ensure we can be there for all who turn to us. Your gift lifts up your neighbors and makes us a healthier community. A few stories from our first year in Westborough include:

- A girl, age 10, had "lost her smile". During treatment she worked on her self confidence and her ability to use coping strategies. After discharge, her mother reached out to say thank you for the support and to share that "her teacher was so impressed to see her smiling face back!".

- The parents of a young boy, age 8, got the results from a neuropsychological assessment and were having a hard time understanding it. Their son's clinician held a parent meeting to help them. Afterward they emailed to say "Thank you for your kindness and generosity.... This feels hard and having your help for [our son] and us is very much appreciated."

- The mother of a client who had had prior therapists from other agencies sent this note 3 months into treatment: "I really appreciate your focus on parental involvement and accountability. I think you're a great fit for [my child]!"

Every dollar helps to provide timely counseling to youth in distress, lift up overwhelmed parents, assist seniors in finding peace and comfort, and to help first responders with the weight of their role.
