Join us for a rare and profound opportunity to receive the CHÖD Empowerment and Teachings from Venerable Drupon Rinchen Dorjee Rinpoche, our precious guru and a highly respected master in the Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

CHÖD (pronounced "chö") is a deeply transformative meditation practice that literally means "cutting through." Rooted in the Prajnaparamita teachings, CHÖD involves offering one's own ego—symbolically and compassionately—as a means to cut through fear, attachment, and self-clinging. This powerful practice is known for its ability to help practitioners develop fearless compassion and profound insight into the nature of mind and reality.

Machig Labdrön, an 11th-century Tibetan yogini, was the originator of the CHÖD tradition. Her teachings emphasize transforming fear into wisdom by offering one's body and ego as a means of cutting through attachment and illusion.

This event coincides with Saga Dawa, one of the most sacred times in the Tibetan calendar, marking the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of the Buddha. Practicing during this time is said to greatly amplify the effects of spiritual activity.

All are welcome. Whether you're new to CHÖD or an experienced practitioner, this is a powerful opportunity to deepen your understanding and practice under the guidance of an authentic lineage master.

💗 Suggested Offerings & Participation

To attend in-person, a suggested offering of $64 - $108 per day is greatly appreciated.

For those joining us on Zoom, a suggested offering of $21 - $54 per day is welcomed.

Accommodation & Meals

Overnight Stay: Limited indoor camping in the shrine room is available. To reserve a space, please email register.crss@gmail.com. A suggested offering of $30 or more per night is appreciated overnight stay.
Lunches: Delicious vegetarian lunches will be available for $15 per day.
Overnight attendees can enjoy all meals. Please help with preparation. Karma yoga discounts available.
