Our new Sammie’s Squad is dedicated to one thing: making 2026 an incredible year for the animals of Nevada County. Together we are preparing to:

• Create more enrichment opportunities that keep shelter pets joyful, active, and ready for adoption
• Expand outreach and training programs to help pets stay safe and loved in their forever homes.
• Launch a focused and supported volunteer program so community members can give their time, skills & love in even more ways that make a difference.
• Grow our foster and adoption program to ensure more animals find safe, loving homes as quickly as possible.
• And much more - always putting the animals first!
