As the Executive Director of the Guardians of Flushing Bay, I get to fundraise for a vision of a healthy and equitably accessible Flushing Waterways taken care of by a network of local stewards. First conceived by dragon boaters---some of the people closest to Flushing Bay's environmental contamination--- this vision contains a radical message: a healthy, equitable, interdependent, caring world is possible and we have the power to bring it into being. Every week, GoFB fights for this vision, whether it be organizing grassroots coalitions for land use equity, developing living shorelines, caring for our sidewalk rain gardens, collecting and analyzing environmental data, cleaning up our wetlands or leading free boating tours. A donation to Guardians of Flushing Bay plays a critical role in sustaining the work needed to actualize abundant and environmentally just Flushing Waterways. Thank you for believing in our radical vision!
