🚨 Urgent Call for Help: Funding Needed to Save Emerald! 🚨
Hello ROC family, we're reaching out with an urgent plea for our sweet, struggling Emerald. We’ve been on quite a journey with her, and while she's made progress, she still needs specialized training to overcome her severe anxiety. Her sessions are $150 each, and our rescue has hit a financial wall with zero remaining funds to cover this crucial next step.
Emerald deserves every chance to find happiness and security. Here’s her story:
On February 29, 2024, we pulled Emerald from Rochester Animal Services. Right from the start, it was clear that she was terrified of the world. Her foster family has worked tirelessly to help her gain confidence, but it’s been an uphill battle. We’ve come to suspect that Emerald may have been mistreated in her past, as she shows a particular fear of men. After two months in her foster home, she began acting out—nipping her foster dad and, eventually, others outside the home. Emerald’s anxiety means she has to be muzzled around unfamiliar faces, and she’s developed a strong attachment to her foster mom, even becoming protective.
Emerald’s foster family has done everything they can, but they’re not in a position to adopt her. With her anxiety and reactivity, it’s essential that Emerald continues her work with her behavioral trainer, who’s seen genuine improvement and believes she’s capable of further progress. But we can’t afford any more sessions.
Without continued training, Emerald’s future is uncertain, and we may have to consider heartbreaking options to keep everyone safe. Emerald has the potential to be a wonderful, goofy companion in a safe, loving home, but she needs professional guidance to get there.
We’re asking for your help, ROC family. Please consider donating to keep Emerald’s training going. Every dollar makes a difference for her!
Please, share this and donate to help us give Emerald the chance she deserves! Thank you for being a part of her journey and for supporting our rescue family. 🧡
