💔 **Rest in Peace, Sweet Opal** 💔

This morning, our hearts shattered as we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Opal. She took a turn for the worse overnight, and despite all our efforts, her body just couldn’t keep fighting. After her third emergency vet visit, it was clear that the amount of underlying illness made recovery impossible. The antibiotics had stopped working, and her quality of life was no longer there.

The veterinarian gently explained that even if she pulled through this time, she would face lifelong flareups of calicivirus, ongoing GI issues, ear infections and breathing troubles. We made the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully.

Opal came to us fragile, sick, and full of spirit. We poured every ounce of love and care into giving her a chance — and she gave us everything she had in return. She will always be remembered for her gentle purrs, her bravery, and the hope she brought to us all. 🌸

We are deeply grateful for everyone who donated, prayed, and followed her journey. Her total medical costs have now reached about **$1,800**, including today’s visit and euthanasia. We’re still asking for help to cover those expenses so we can continue rescuing others in need. Every dollar helps us open our doors to the next cat who needs a second chance.
