🐾 Sam’s Story

Last June, while we were in the early stages of building our sensory farm, a small, malnourished puppy wandered onto our property.

That puppy was Sam.

He was underweight, skittish, and clearly hadn’t been cared for. We did everything we were supposed to do—we contacted the pound, posted in local Facebook groups, and tried to locate an owner. When no one came forward, we made the decision to do what our farm is built on: we said yes.

We took Sam in.

Over time, with food, safety, and love, Sam transformed. The scared little dog who showed up on our land became a playful, affectionate, and outgoing part of our farm family. He found his place here.

Unfortunately, over the past few days, something has gone very wrong.

At first, we believed Sam had simply overeaten—he managed to eat both his own food and our other dog’s food. When we woke up to vomit the next morning, we assumed it was an upset stomach. After that, he seemed better for the day, playing and running like normal.

But then the symptoms returned—and worsened.

Sam has now:

Vomited multiple times overnight
Refused food entirely
Become very lethargic
Developed severe, watery stools

At this point, it’s clear this is not just an upset stomach. Sam needs to be seen by a veterinarian immediately so we can understand what’s happening and get him the care he needs.

We’ve set this fundraiser to help cover emergency diagnostics, treatment, and potential follow-up care. Veterinary costs add up quickly, especially when the cause is unknown, and we want to make sure cost never delays care for an animal who found safety with us.
